Are Angela and Hodgins really leaving?
Last week we watched the promo for ‘Bones’ and found out that Angela and Hodgins are leaving. How can two main characters be leaving the show when ‘Bones’ is coming back for an eleventh season?
There is no official news about Michaela Conlin (Angela) and T.J. Thyne (Hodgins) leaving the series, but the preview shows them saying goodbye. Plus we already knew they were thinking about moving to Paris.
Last month The Hollywood Reporter said that David Boreanaz (Booth), Emily Deschanel (Brennan), John Boyd (Aubrey) and Tamara Taylor (Cam) signed new contracts, as well as Michaela and T.J. If they signed new deals, why are they leaving now? How can ‘Bones’ go on without them?
Brennan and Booth may be the center, but without Angela and Hodgins, who would look at the particulates and who would simulate the crime scenes? They are a big part of what makes up the show. I don’t believe there is a show without them.
Angela has always been the one guiding Brennan. Brennan doesn’t always know what to do socially and Angela helps her. We didn’t realize how much, until we found out that Angela helped Brennan write her books, well the sex scenes at least.
Hodgins has always been a big part of the comedy on the show. I still miss King of the Lab and enjoy when he brings it up every once in a while.
Angela and Hodgins definitely became the other big couple on the show early on. They got together a lot earlier than Booth and Brennan, but have still struggled. They also are a big part of the team with solving cases.
Please tell me this isn’t true and they will be returning next season. There was that one time when everyone went off for a year and rejoined. Can this be one of those times?
I guess we will have to watch and see what happens and keep a look out for the official word on if Michaela and T.J. are really leaving ‘Bones’ behind.

Brennan no longer “needs” Angela as her social liason, Brennan has come a long way..Hodginsis just as you say a lab rat…
I love Hodgins though. And Brennan will always need Angela, even is she is better socially now. I will miss them!
I think Hodgins and Angela are integral to the team. They are one-half of the other critical team, Booth and Dr. Brennan. I don’t know how this series can go on with them. If it is true, maybe it is to ease us down to the final blow to the show to occur in whatever future time their ratings go down (which is sure to happen with what they are doing to the characters).
I agree. I think the ratings will go down if they really get rid of Angela and Hodgins. I mean they are missing half of the characters. But they signed new deals, so I don’t know what’s going on. We’ll have to see what happens in the season finale next week.
We’ve seen in other episodes where the gang communicated from even other countries via Skype or other computer methods. I can see Hodgins and Angela helping them solve crimes from Paris. And it may take them half of next season to pack and sell their own house etc. before they leave. Who knows.
I can see them helping on some cases from Paris, but not all. That would be great for one episode, but not a whole season.
I’d miss Hodgins. He’s likable. Angela on the other hand can go away. All shes ever done is moan about how much she hates her job, enforce her morality on others, and along with Cam, police everyone else for having any kind of fun for any reason. While she does provide friendship for Brennan, Angie’s been a bummer for a long time.
Angela hasn’t really had a great storyline lately. Her complaining about her job is just staying true to her character, but I would like to see more from her. Hodgins at least has his bugs.
It is the season finale, just like when they both went to Paris last time. They will be back.
That’s what I’m hoping is going to happen.

That’s just a horrible prediction! But with Sweets dying at the beginning of the season, who knows! Which one would you want to die?
