Dinner with the Originals is always and eventful event, but Ester’s return seems different this time. She claims she wants to release them from the vampire curse, but instead of it being a nice gesture, she’s going to force them to take her up on her offer. She even offered the gesture to Hayley and she looks like she’s thinking about it.
What does Ester really plan on doing to them? Switching them into someone else’s non-vampire body? Her last appearance she wanted to kill them all, what changed? Has anything changed?
It seems pretty clear that season two is going to be filled with flashbacks. By the end of this show we will really know the Originals. But maybe there are too many flashbacks. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the ones last week when we got to see Rebekah and Kol, but this episode seemed more in the past than in the present. I love when they use flashbacks in ‘The Vampire Diaries’, but use them wisely. Every episode seems a bit much.
While I was a little annoyed this week by how much time we spent in the past, we did learn a lot about Klaus and Finn. And Finn we know very little about. All we know about him is he’s a mommy’s boy, which the flashbacks showed more of that.
So why is Elijah keeping his distance from Hayley? Everything he’s done to help her, he’s done through Klaus. Does he not love the hybrid Hayley? At first it seemed that their relationship was broken because of Hayley transitioning, now it seems like it’s more on Elijah’s end.
Check out the preview for next week. Looks like Klaus and Michael will face off:
