I don’t think it’s too big of a surprise that Jane lost the baby. It’s sad, but I think it’s better for the show’s storyline. Jane doesn’t want to get married and she loves her job. She can’t be a mother right now. She’s all about the job. I think this pregnancy opened up her eyes to what she could have in the future, just not now.
Even from a hospital bed, Jane was still able to solve the case. Well, Korsak and Frankie did a lot of the leg work, but if it wasn’t for Jane, they wouldn’t have been able to catch the guy. It was one of those times when they know who the killer is, but don’t have enough evidence to convict, but Jane solved that problem.
This episode reminded me of the film, ‘The Net’. Someone stole the victim’s identity and no one noticed. She worked from home and didn’t have any friends. The victim in this episode was dead for years before she was found. Well, two people found her first, but didn’t do much in the way of reporting it. The gardner kept doing his work and her business partner made an anonymous call to the police, but the police never entered the home to find her. It makes you really think about the relationships you have and that you hope if something happened to you, someone would care.
Jane, her family and her colleagues are a tight family. They would do anything for each other and would notice right away if something happened to one of them.
Check out the preview for next week. Jane is going stir crazy with no work, so Korsak gives her an old case file:
