Grey’s Anatomy Season 10 Episode 17

86507-greys-anatomy-fans-can-rest-easy-chief-webber-is-safe-there-he-is-righThis was a little bit of a strange episode because we know that Cristina is leaving at the end of the season and we know how she feels about kids. We got a glimpse at what could happen if Cristina and Owen got back together, and two outcomes that could happen. One, that she eventually has kids and her career suffers. The other, is they break up, yet again, and her career flourishes, but Owen’s falls apart. I don’t know if the second outcome is as likely. I think Owen is a lot stronger than that vision gave him credit for.

After the emotional roller coaster that was Cristina and Owen’s life, we hardly get an outcome at all. Cristina walks away. Which is probably the best thing that she could have done. If Owen and her are really over, then Cristina’s parting is just around the corner. But her and Meredith have repaired their relationship, so how are those two going to be when Cristina leaves. In whatever way she will leave.

It’s still hard to picture the show after Cristina leaves. There’s still a lot of characters left to carry the show, but Cristina has been the heart since the beginning.

The final season of Private Practice had episodes for each character, much like this one. Was this the episode meant to be a goodbye for Cristina?

I never know how I feel about episodes like this, that don’t really propel the story. It’s just what could have been. I hardly ever watch these episodes again.

Check out the preview for next week. There’s a virus going around the hospital and it’s infecting the doctors:
