Everything has been different in this season of The Vampire Diaries. Katherine is human, Elena and Damon were together without the sire bond, Bonnie was dead and Caroline and Elena were off at college. There has also been a new evil and this time they were human.
So what do we think of season five so far?
I have liked Katherine as a human. She’s grown a little, but now she’s dying. Will they really kill her off? The writers are certainly not afraid of killing characters off. But they just introduced Katherine’s long lost daughter. Can they really kill her off when there is much potential with that storyline? I don’t like the idea of the 100th episode being centered around her though. There’s so much more they could have focused on.
I really enjoyed seeing Elena and Damon together. I have been routing for them since season three. But they have already broken up. What will Stefan do when he finds out? Will Elena try to get back with Damon?
We’ve learned more about Elena’s father this year. Backstories like these can change things. Elena now knows who her father really was. What will she do with this information?
Bonnie is back, but it came with a price. Every supernatural being that dies, goes through her. How is she going to handle this? She can see everyone on the other side too. Amara went crazy from this, of course she was stuck frozen for centuries as well. There’s so many evil creatures that they’ve killed on the other side. I wouldn’t want to see those guys again.
So what’s next for season five? More of Wes? More of Katherine and her daughter? And what about Damon and Elena?
The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, January, 23 8/7c. The residents of Mystic Falls will be reminiscing over the horrible things Katherine has done to them.
